If the kitten was using the litter box and now isn't there is something different causing it to behave this way. Is there something keeping it from privacy? Cats do like their privacy. You can try moving the cat box or putting another cat box if the kitten is picking one certain spot out to use. Is there anything new that might be upsetting the kitten? For example, new people coming in and out or a stray hanging around outside, a new pet. Also, if it's something that just came about maybe there is a medical reason. Certain infections cause cause a cat not to use the litter box. Please don't give your kitten away just cause it has a problem. My Leo was having problems using his litter box and I had to completely retrain him. He will be 14 years old in May. He's my baby. I wouldn't have him if I had given up on him.

Monitor his water consumption. Take him outside to go to the bathroom about 10 minutes after he drinks water (or less if he can't hold it that long). Bring treats with you OUTSIDE and give him a treat as soon as he goes to the bathroom. Praise him and tell him "good boy" after he goes to the bathroom.
Although I don't recommend rubbing your dogs nose in it if he goes to the bathroom inside, he still needs to be brought over to the "accident" and told "NO" and then brought outside immediately to finish his deed. This way he knows that you don't like him going to the bathroom inside. Your dog wants to make you happy, make sure you let him know what you want.

The only person who is halfway correct here is Hannah. Spraying it, yelling at it, or otherwise trying to punish it will not make one bit of difference. Cats prefer to potty in one place. The only reason they would not is because the litterbox is either disgusting to them (is it cleaned daily?), the type of litter disagrees with them--maybe hurts their feet--or they are suffering from a urinary tract infection. In the case of an infection, the cat associates pain with the litterbox, so it tries out other places to potty hoping a different place won't hurt.

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether a cat "respects" you or not. That is such a juvenile way of looking at it and completely untrue.

You need to do 2 things: First, get the cat to the vet. Not only can they make sure it does not have a serious problem, but they can explain to you more fully about the secrets of a cat's peeing and pooping habits. Secondly, try a litter called "Cat Attract". It costs a bit more, but you can try using just one scoop of it on top of your regular litter. It has some kind of herbal scent that the cat can't resist. I have tried it in cases such as yours and it 100% works. They have it at PetCo and PetSmart but not grocery stores.

Lastly, if you don't like the cat and probably will never learn to like the cat, why not find her a new home? It sounds like you would both be happier.

I agree that you need to provide more litterboxes. Many cats don't like to share, so if you only have 2 litterboxes for 5 cats it is not surprising that some of them are finding alternative locations!

As far as the toileting in the bathtub (and this can apply to a sink, too) keep an inch or two of water in the bottom of the basin whenever it is not in use. After one inadvertent plunge, your cat will likely think twice about using the bathroom!

If the cats aren't used to all being together, then all the negative behaviours might be territorial and/or stress-related. Try to separate the cats that aren't used to living together and see if that helps. You can also purchase pheremone (also referred to as feliway or calming) spray from your local petstore - that may destress your cats enough that they'll stop making inappropriate messes.

Here's the deal, I have 2 little dogs who are about 2 years old. They have been potty trained (sortof) by me and the rest of my family but they are back into the habit of pissing and pooing in the house whenever they want. They have this spot in the living room where they always seem to relieve themselves and it smells absolutely god awful in there if you walk over in that spot u can feel the moisture of the piss, since its hard to tell where they did piss and virtually impossible to clean up the piss! I walk both dogs on a 20 minute walk in the morning around 8 and a 20-30 minute walk at night around 6. They are also let outside preiodically during the day and before they go to bed. Whenever I let them out the don't do anything!?!? And they always bug the crap out of me for walks. It seems as soon as I walk them, or go outside they realize "Oh ya I gotta ****" and as soon as u turn ur back theres **** and piss in that spot. It's reeeeaaallly frustrating and im thinking of getting rid of them. PLEASE HELP, I NEED SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!

So if they are 2 years old and they are still going in the house it is because they do not respect you. Dogs live in packs, and they follow the directions of the alpha. So you have to be the alpha. So to become the alpha you have to lead the pack. When you take them for a walk do you let them lead the way or do you lead them? Also if you tell them to stay will they? You must become the alpha, when you take them for a walk control their actions. Make them walk WITH you, not in front of you. Keep their head up so they don't smell around without your permission. Create potty spots where you stop every time you walk. When they are at the house put them in a Create, and only let them out when you have positive control of them. Create a routine that they must follow every day. Become the alpha and they will respect your wishes.

Also Rip the carpet out and paint the sub floor with Kilz Primer. Don't put in new carpet until you fix the problem with the dogs.

Personally me, I would be knocking on his door. He needs to realize that not everyone loves his dog like him. I would tell him nicely to please keep his dog off your lawn that he is ruining it.
